For the first part of this run, I roughly followed a Garmin workout suggestion for sprints, doing 9 x 15sec @ sub-4:00min/mi, with warmup, recoveries, and cooldown. After that, I alternated faster/slower paces for each remaining mile.

Half # 129: recovery half
Oops, I forgot to post this one the day I ran it (Tuesday, 10/22/2024). My ankle was a little tender from the das BURT endurance run that weekend, so I kept it easy pace an zone 2 heart rate (avg HR 127).

Half #127 and 128: Inaugural “das BURT” endurance run
The Bainbridge Ultra Running Team (BURT) puts on an ultra every year in February; this was their first year setting up an additional event in October: “das BURT,” a timed run where participants choose either to run a single 4.8mi loop, or to see how many they can complete in 6, 12, or 24 hours. I entered and won first place for the 6-hour category, with 7 loops (logged as 33.5mi) in 5:42.

Half #126: Wednesday group run
Oops: forgot to post this until now. I finished #126 on Wednesday (10/16/24) by running 7 miles to the 7-mile group run.

Half #125!
I made this a sustained uptempo effort, for what might be my quickest half since the Boston Marathon in April.

Half #124: south-end cross-Island
I kept an easy pace (except a little push toward the end), but for some reason this one was a slog. Beautiful day out there, though!

Half #122: Goodro Round with Greg, Nick, and Mark
This was a run in the Olympic mountains which I’ve been excited to get a chance to do for quite a while. Named the “Goodro Round” after my friend and running buddy, Mark Goodro, it loops together the peaks of Mt. Townsend, Welch, Silver Lakes, and Hawk (along with North Mt. Townsend peak and an unnamed one, for good measure). It was great to get to run this with a terrific group!

Half #121: South-end cross-island with strides
I ran a version of my trusty cross-island route, mixing in seven intervals of 0.15mi at approximately 5:00min/mi pace. Given that I ran a half-marathon yesterday as well, it felt like pushing pace on tired legs would add some nice muscle confusion.

Half #120: Wednesday group run
Last evening I ran from home to the group run, adding about 7mi to the regular route and making it a half-marathon. Nice to have the 120th be a social moment!
